Remote/Replicate is currently unreliable
Over the last few weeks, I have found that Replicate and Remote are unreliable.
Regularly Replicate will fail to run because either the source or the destination will not connect even though they are on the same LAN and both appear, with full information in the network window on Replicate.readynas.com (V1 Pro to NVX Business - both with 4.2.22 firmware and Replicate 1.1.5 and Remote 1.0.9.78.)
I also have problems with ReadyNAS Remote running from Windows 7 64 bit (Client 1.6.5.18). The client is happily running but the ReadyNAS devices (Pro and NVX) are said to be offline.
I also have limited if no success from either the New iPad or iPhone 4S (both on iOS 6.0) and running 1.3.7.
Replicate and Remote (both from PC and my iOS devices) used to work without fail. Now I cannot count on it working which means they are currently almost useless.
The only positive thing is that My Duo (v1) (firmware 4.1.10) running Remote 1.0.9.78 is at least online.
I thought there was a possibility the server end was down - but doubt this is the case as my Duo (v1) (firmware 4.1.10) running Remote 1.0.9.78 is at least online. I have to suspect that Replicate 1.1.5 and the Remote Client 1.6.5.18 are not as robust as they used to be.
Look forward to getting some reliability back into the system.

- BMachAspirantI have a look around on the NVX and the Pro v1 - my opinion is that the p2p is not running and that neither a reboot or a restart p2p fixes the problem! - Any thoughts
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredDid you try
# etc/init.d/leafp2p restart
when you attempted to start the service?
So when you do an
# ifconfig
You don't see the LeafNets service? - BMachAspirantSo far I only tried from the manage remote or manage replicate page in frontview
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYou may wish to follow the advice here: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=138&t=51197
What version of the p2p adapter is reported?
Download logs (Status > Logs > Download All Logs)
Is the LeafNets adapter mentioned in network_settings.log?
Do you have SSH access? - BMachAspirantThanks for those suggestions mdgm, will try in the morning
- BMachAspirantWhen I download the logs from Remote I get
"error: Address already in use"
Any thoughts - BMachAspirantI removed both Replicate and Remote, rebooted and system now works.
Looks like it was a problem with the NVX and Pro. Not sure why both fell over in the same way. It could be associated with the upgrade process. - BMachAspirantThe NVX has just gone offline for some reason - When I download the logs and look at network_settings.log - there is no longer a leaf networks adaptor
- pnwttcAspirantHi,
We had the same issue - http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=75&t=67007
I don't think its your NVX, we have 10 ReadyNAS's deployed (a mixture of Pro 6, Ultra 4, Ultra 2 and Duo v2's) and they all suffer from this issue and its only since Netgear launched ReadyDrop.
The only way I have been able to get ReadyNAS Remote to work is to constantly reset the p2p, but never had to do this prior to ReadyDrop.
Ultimately, as a small business provider Netgear have become too unreliable and uncompetitive against Synology who's NAS's we are now going to deploy into a number of customer sites. DSM is a joy to use and show's now clunky RAIDiator has become (even the new ARM based OS leaves a lot to be desired) which is a shame, as the hardware itself is very good value for money, but hardware is nought without good software

Anybody else have this problem.
