SABNzbd - Specifying a LAN port
Hello guys
I'm sorry if I missed this being discussed elsewhere, but here it goes.
I have SABnzbd runnign on my ReadyNAS Ultra6 which, as you know, has two LAN ports.
What I would like to do is having the Readynas connected to my home network (which has Internet access via ADSL) on LAN Port 1 and SAB doing all its downloading from, say, LAN port 2, from another separate ADSL connection which I would pay for exclusively for downloads.
I know, it may sound stupid, but I live in the countryside and don't have a huge a lot of badwidth, so every time I download anything my internet connection just crawls to a halt.
Is this doable? And if so, what settings (if any!) do I need to change?
Thank you very much in advance!
André

- gibxxiGuideI have a similar issue, but I think the hassle of having two sets of phone lines would cost you more than you'd gain, especially with BT's installation charges and line rental. Would it not be easier to limit SABnzbd+ download speed? SABnzbd+ will utilize all the available bandwidth if you don't limit it, slowing down regular browsing, so in my case I set a download limit of 500KBps (Max rate for me is about 700-750KBps) which still allows me to do regular browsing.
The setting in SABnzbd+ is: Config -> General -> Download Speed Limit. - Well, yes that would be an option.
But where's the geeky-cool factor in that? ;)
I guess I would have to set the routing table so that all traffc directed to my NNTP server's IP address gets routed to one of the ports and all the rest to the other... - gibxxiGuideWell if you manage to do this (without two ADSL connections) I'd be interested in seeing your network diagram / map. Networking is not one of my strongest areas. ;)
