Transmission installation problem

I'm sorry, but i stumbled upon yet another problem. Transmission doesn't download torrents properly, it gives me some error after pausing a torrent saying "Error: No data found! Ensure your drives are connected or use "Set Location", making it unable to resume. To re-download, remove the torrent and re-add it.". However, after a quick forum search, i found what seems like a solution, however .. I need some help putting the solution into works. Now i hit brick wall even from step 3; How do i open a directory in SSH? Just typing in "/etc/frontview/addons/bin/TRANSMISSION" doesn't do anything aside from SSH telling me this is a dorectory unfortunately.
