What add ons do I need to run XBMC?
I have been using Plex which I like but i'm having issues with the iPad and no support being offerd. I was thinking about trying XBMC next to stream all of my media. Sorry if the following questions ...

As far as I know, XBMC is media player software. This means that your iPad would have to run an XBMC add-on, not your NAS.
All ReadyNAS systems have a build-in DLNA server which works which is automatically recognized by any XBMC media player as long as you are on the same network (ie. in your house). To enable the DLNA server on your NAS, log in on Frontview, in the menu go to "Services" and then to "Streaming Services". Make sure the tickbox in front of "ReadyDLNA" is ticked, select which share(s) should be available and press the apply-button.
Apple prefers that you use their stuff, so your iPad can probably not stream media from the build-in DLNA server on your NAS without extra software on your iPad.
About add-ons in general: there are a lot of add-ons available both from Netgear as from the community here on the forum. You can also make your own add-ons, I think there are some manuals for that on the forum.
