10gig switches xs708t vs xs708ev2

what exactly is the differences between these 2 switches?

708t = smart managed

708Ev2 = web managed

the web managed is down to $560 at amazon today

versus the 'smart' managed @ $800

i cannot find a good explaination of the differences between these 2 switches, any help?

  • The XS708Ev2 supports only static LAG, and not LACP.  Oddly enough, it doesn't include port mirroring.

    It also doesn't support some security features (for instance 802.1x authentication and ACL).

      Oh, wow that sucks, I almost pulled the trigger on the Ev2.

      Guess I'll be waiting for 708t to drop in price or another suitable 10g switch with lacp support to get to a reasonable price.

        As far as the ReadyNAS goes, you should be able to use round-robin on the NAS with a static LAG on the Ev2.
