[4.1.8-T5]: SPARC CNID DB error under Lion AFP [Resolved]
After updating my ReadyNAS NV to RAIDiator 4.1.8-T5 I get the following error when attempting to connect to it via AFP in OSX Lion: "Something wrong with the volume's CNID DB, using temporary CNID DB instead.Check server messages for details. Switching to read-only mode."
Connecting with SMB works properly.

Excellent! I didn't see this mentioned as fixed in the release notes (maybe they don't mention fixes of beta regressions), so I'm glad it was fixed!
Maybe DeltaTee (OP) or a moderator could update the subject of this thread to mark it as resolved? - salvobetaAspirantHi, I updated to the 4.1.8-T9 for my X6 so I could finally access my NAS from Lion. I was able to get it to talk to the server for a brief while, but after a period of time, the AFP connection stops working.
I'll ssh into the ReadyNAS and try to start up the service manually or from the control panel. For a short period of time it may work, but I constantly get error messages about the CNID DB. And then eventually crap out.
Restarting gets it working for about a day; it then dies after that.
I don't know what I can really do to fix this. I know that this box is old and is barely supported, but I was hoping it could scrape by for a little while longer until I can scrounge up enough cash to get an x86 based system.
I've also had the NAS box freeze up from trying to access it from AFP sometimes since the Lion update.
Would this system benefit from doing a system reset? - DeltaTeeAspirant@salvobeta: It sounds as if your issue is fairly different than the one I originally described, and since this thread is marked resolved, you will have more luck posting under a new topic.
