A new version of QuickShadow Backup is released

I have just released an update to QuickShadow Backup.

Version 2.5:
- fixes a small problem with the windows explorer context menu, only seen in special circumstances
- sync will now copy empty folders from destination to source
- improvements to robustness of the offline (save changed files and copy later) mode
- a couple of small fixes for minor user interface issues
- when using disk snapshots (VSS), and large files are to be copied infrequently, the size threshold and frequency can now bet set in the UI.

Existing users get this as a free upgrade.

The free (unregistered) version gets all the above improvements, except for the disk snapshots capability.

More information, downloads, release notes, etc are at http://quicklytech.com.

For information - I have just released QuickShadow Backup version 2.18.

This adds support for Windows 10, and (as usual) fixes a few annoyances.

It supports multiple users (with some limitations); as well as the fairly normal desktop-user-is-admin.

Obligatory disclaimer per netgear rules: This software is available for free, with limitations. If you choose to register, a small fee is paid which will offset my expenses (it does not allow me to live in the lap of luxury). Registration makes all features available on an ongoing basis.

  • A solution is coming.... (in version 3).

In the meantime though, it now supports Windows 8. Version 2.9.0 just released for this.
