If your dashboard says XRAID or RAID-1, then you would need to backup all your data, and do a factory default procedure. This wipes your settings, add-ons, and your data. So you would need to rebuild from scratch.
You have a 10 minute window from when you start the factory default to override the mode from XRAID2 to FlexRaid/Jbod (with RAIDar). This is described in the documentation, you should review the manual first.
Your other option is to get 2 larger disks (1 - 3 TB). That would give you the extra safety of mirroring, and more space. And it eliminates the need to rebuild the NAS from scratch.
