Well, to be fair, you're paying for something engineered, warrented, supported, and updated with very specific features on top of the total sum of the metal and chips. This price does seem a little out of line, though. That said, the 516 was sold with Netgear promising an upgrade path to 10g "soon". It's sounding like the 10g official upgrade path for the 516 is $3200.
