AFP Out Of Date In OS X Lion
I have a ReadyNAS NV+ with RAIDiator 4.1.7 [1.00a043] installed. Using the developer preview of OS X Lion, I get this message when trying to connect.
"The version of the server you are trying to connect to is not supported. Please contact your system administrator to resolve the problem."
Is there some way to upgrade AFP?

- jonathanmellonAspirantWell Lion has now been released, so does anyone know if the new RAIDiator which yoo-dah says should fix the issue has been released yet?

@stannenb We'll have a release for x86 Wed. Sparc release will follow at a later date as we're working out some issues there.
Great news, can't wait to get this going, hopefully it won't take too long to iron out the SPARC issues (which I'm sure are down to them running such an archaic Debian release). - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYes lots of backporting would probably be needed for Sparc. Could be some other issues as well.
The new RAIDiator has not been released yet. yoh-dah's based at NetGear HQ so he's possibly just waking up to a new day.
Just to be clear x86 ReadyNAS are those with Intel CPUs (i.e. NVX, Ultra, Pro, 1500, 2100, 3200, 3100, 4200). Sparc ReadyNAS (have Infrant Sparc CPU) are e.g. Duo, NV+, 1100, Infrant ReadyNAS, old OEM rebrands.
yoh-dah said x86 firmware (As he didn't say I don't know if this will be a public beta or production release, but I'd expect it'd probably be a beta) is due today. - eBiByAspirantHi @ all!
I have a very strange behaviour on this...
I have 2 Duos with both the same RAIDiator (4.1.7) and the same protocols enabled (AFP and FTP ).
After upgrading today to Mac OS 10.7 (LION) I am getting the following:
NAS 1: I can connect over AFP and all is fine.
NAS 2; The error of an outdated protocol is displayed...
(sorry for the German error message)
Anyone else have this?

Sven - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredGetting an error is to be expected. I haven't installed Lion yet (I've just purchased and downloaded it), but this thread has indicated several times that there will need to be a firmware update to add Lion compatibility.
- eBiByAspirantThe strange thing is as described above...
2 x ReadyNas DUO with RADiator 4.1.7
One works, the other not... - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredeBiBy Are you using guest access with one? Or using CIFS rather than AFP on one?
- eBiByAspirantBoth are used only with authentication.
Both are using AFP only (as you can see above) - eBiByAspirantI have to correct myself...
The one working had Guest enabled... And this was the working one... - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhen logging in as guest you may not need to authenticate, so the authentication requirements of Lion may not apply. This would explain why it worked.
