Anonymous vs Anyone permissions
I am trying to refresh my memory and this seems like a simple question, but I couldn't find anything that elaborated on the differences and why you would choose one instead of the other.

Are you referring to Network Access of a share in ReadyNAS volume?
I think that is Everyone instead of Anyone. Everyone is selected when you have local users and you want to allow all of them to access a certain share, this means that the share will prompt you for a username and password before being able to access it. When Anonymous is enabled, this means that the share will not prompt for a login, it will just allow anyone who attempts to get in.

Everyone = Authenticated Users
Anonymous = Any authenticated user & non-users.
Common problem that can affect Anonymous is having the same username on windows and nas, but with different passwords. This will cause the login prompt to be displayed when accessing Anonymous shares (your username passwords mis-match between windows and nas).
