Another slow ReadyNAS 102...
As so many others, I have issues with slow Read&Write to my newly purchased ReadyNas 102.

Two WD Red 3TB running X-RAID
Running serivces:
SMB, AFP, ReadyDNLA, HHTP, HTTPS
Router:
Nighthawk Model R7000
Gigabit Router
Frimware V1.0.3.68_1.1.31
When I connect to Internet through fiber and have 96-98 mbit up and down (pay for 100/100).
ReadyNas is on a CAT 5-6 gigabit Ethernet cable WAN (not wifi).
When connecting direct Laptop to NAS through cable I get about 10MBs read & write.
The laptop has win 7. Have the same figures connecting through router...
I think this is way too slow...
Connecting to NAS through my stationary running on Win XP :) gives 2.6MBs R&W.
Tried changing MTU on NAS to 1492 this improved read on Win XP to 10MBs.
As the speed cable PC to NAS only reaches 10MB, I think the issue is the NAS.
Ideas?

- Are both the PC and the NAS negotiating gigabit?
- What I can see in NAS network setup, it only runs on 100mbit.
How can I verify if they are all negotiating in gigabit?

Also, forgot to mention that the Stationary PC (win XP) runs though gigabit switch (GS208) then router then NAS
The win 7 laptop connects direct to router. - If the NAS says 100 mbit, then that explains the 10 MB/sec cap. 100 mbits / 8 => 12.5 MB/sec. In practice you get less, in part because SMB is a "chatty" protocol.
Start by trying a different cable for the RN102, and maybe a different port in the router or switch.
If different cabling and different ports don't help, then contact support.
BTW, there's no way to force gigabit, the NAS has to autonegotiate it. - WOW, what a difference!
Write average 42MB/s 36 to 44
Read 35.36MB/s 30 to 40
Used the cable the Netgear supplied with the NAS. Changed that one and got the gigabit connection to work.
A bit fluctuating on write... Any suggestion how to stabilize that?
Anyway happy again!

Your read speeds should be faster (closer to 70), but that also depends on your PC performance. - I am in fact using NasTester on my PC
CPU usage max 25% and network usage max 35%
Concluded that my laptop does not support gigabit.
My intention is to optimize NAS for different devices like, my PC, PS3 for streaming movies and iPhone and iPad for streaming and backup.
