Backup Exec RALUS Add-on [13.0.5204.1]
What is it?: Backup Exec Remote Agent for Linux and UNIX servers (RALUS).
What is required: ReadyNAS x86 system (NVX,Pro,2100,3100,3200,4200,Pro2/4/6), Symantec Backup Exec with RALUS license.
(NV+/1100 are not supported)
Where to get it: BackupExec_13.0.5204.1-x86.bin (10/27/11)
Like other ReadyNAS add-ons, install it in FrontView via System>Update>Local.
How to use it: Once installed, you can see it listed in FrontView>Services>Installed Add-ons. In there, you can set the IP of your Backup Exec server, so the agent can properly announce itself to the backup server.
ReadyNAS.com article: Using the Symantec RALUS agent with the ReadyNAS
From Backup Exec server, if you create a new backup job, you should see the agent under Favorite Resources>Linux/Unix Servers. If you don’t see it right away, try stopping and starting it via FrontView. The default agent setting is to announce itself every four hours. We may add an option in FrontView to make this time shorter.

Please provide feedback of your experience with the RALUS agent. Does it resolve 'agent missing' errors in your backup jobs, does it increase performance?

- mameisAspirantJust i have installed 13.0.5204. It is not possible to get a connection from Backup Exec 12.5 - the credentials failed.
Why? Is there a way to solve the problem? - amac27AspirantI would suggest that you install tje older Ralus agent and open a case with tech support.
- mameisAspirantYes, certainly i will contact the tech support.
I have reinstalled 13.0 and just it works again (also under new ReadyNAS Firmware 4.2.19, i have installed at same time as the experience with 13.0.5204). - nautAspirant

Anyone have the same experience? Any ideas?
I had the same problem. Check the certificates in the /opt/VRTSralus/data directory on your readynas, if this directory doesn't exist, create it and try to establish the trust relationship. - beisser1Tutor
