Backup USB external HD to ReadyNAS Duo v2

The external HD is a 1 TB, Western Digital HD, format type is: Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
I can see that there is a USB HDD connected to the NAS when plugged into the NAS. However, I cannot view any of the data.
When connected, I have two new shares that show up: USB_HDD_1_1 and USB_HDD_1_2
My ReadyNAS firmware version is 5.3.10.
