Can´t get an IP for our RND2150v2
We have an old NetgearRND 2150v2 and he cant get an IP from the Router. Do you have any idea what we can do?
Do you know what firmware the system is running (RAIDar should tell you)?
Can you reach the NAS admin page, or is it using an IP address that is not on the current subnet?

ReadyNAS unit should be connected to a router that is the DHCP server of the network. This is where the NAS will obtain a valid IP address. If that NAS is already connected, make sure the NAS is connected properly to the router by doing the basics such as checking if the LAN cable you are using a working and if both ends are connected securely to the router and to the NAS, also, check the LED activity on the port of the router where the NAS is connected as well as on the NAS.
If all these are good and your NAS is still not getting a valid IP address from the router, download the latest firmware of the NAS first. Make sure to download the right firmware. If you currently have and firmware version that starts with 4.1.x, this means you are using a ReadyNAS Duo v1 (Sparc). If you currently have 5.3.x, then that is ReadyNAS Duo v2 (ARM).
In case it does not have the latest firmware version, download the latest firmware by keying in the model numbers of your NAS in the model number field of the download site. After downloading, connect the NAS straight to the computer and run RAIDar. This should show the current IP address of the ReadyNAS. Manually assign an IP address to the computer that is with the same IP subnet of the NAS'. For example, of the RAIDar shows 192.168.168.168, this means you can put 192.168.168.x (where x being any number between 0 and 255, except for 168) to the LAN IP settings of the computer. Once done, this will allow you to be able to ping the NAS IP and get to the FrontView.
While in the FrontView, check if the NAS' IP assignment is set to "Use value from DHCP server" or the other under Network > Interfaces. If it is set to "Use value from DHCP server", upgrade the firmware version under System > Update > Local. Rebooting is part of it, just follow the prompts. Once done, put the LAN settings of the computer back to Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS address automatically then connect the NAS back to the router as well as the computer.
