Can ReadyNAS NV be placed on its side

I have an old ReadyNAS NV that I would like to lay on its side in a rack. I realize there are exhaust vents on the sides of the unit. Is it ok to run it on its side if it is on a vented shelf with space above the unit and below the shelf for airflow? Thanks!

As long as the fan vents aren't blocked, it should be fine.

Could be a good idea to check the drive temps and fan speed before putting it on its side and see what it is like after some time of normal use when it is placed on its side.
