Can you format USB drive + what type of backup
Hi , I have a Readynas NV+ v2 Is there any way to format an external USB-drive via the dashboard? You can set the frequency of the full backup but how do you know if it is differential or increment...

I understand now about the USB drive. When you plug the USB drive into the ReadyNAS, go to the Web Interface and check under Volumes/USB Storage and see if it is being detected by the ReadyNAS. If it is, you should be able to backup to it. If not try a different USB port on the ReadyNAS. If none of the ReadyNAS USB ports show the drive you will probably need to reformat the drive by connecting the USB Drive to your computer (via USB cable to computer).
As for the re-installing the OS it does NOT hurt your data it only replaces files in the OS partitions. Please use the link below:
