Formatting Hard Drives

I wish to reformat my hard drives in my ReadyNAS ultra 6 and change from RAID5 to Flexi RAID. I currently have 5 - 3TB hard drives installed and have hit the limit of how much capacity I can install. 1 of the hard drives is on the verge of failing, so I thought it would be a good time to reformat and change my RAID setup. Can I reformat the hard drive (with the new drive in place, which replaces the faulty one) and change the raid setting without deleting the settings I have in Frontview. From what I've read, doing a Factory Reset will delete all my current settings in Frontview? is this correct?

I beleive I currently have the last firmware update before they went to OS 6.

  • No need to reply to this question, I ended up doing a factory reset. All good now.
    Thanks anyway.
