Cannot connect via nfs, only ftp

My network has two NAs devices - a NetGear ReadyNAS 102 (2x1TB) and a STOREX (French NAs device, 1x500GB). I'm trying to configure a weekly backup of critical files from the ReadyNAS to the STOREX system.

On the STOREX device I've enabled CIFS, NFS, and FTP. Using FTP, I am able to connect to the NAS without problems. However, I've not been able to finish a single backup using FTP. The last attempt continued for 3 days and then failed. When I attempt to connect to the same share of the STOREX box using nfs, I get the error "unable to connect to host".

Are there any steps I can perform to troubleshoot this problem?

Thanks

I think we might be getting closer to our cause of errors. I attempted that command and received this error:

"showmount: can't get address for "

    Maybe try this variant:

    showmount -e 127.0.0.1

These are both on your local network?

With NFS, did you try using the IP address, or the storex name?  If you used the name, try the IP address.  Also check the storex documentation to make sure you have the right mount point (path).

FTP is not a great backup protocol on the NAS, though it should of course connect.  Did you try testing the storex using an FTP client on a PC?

Hey sorry for the late response I've been working on a side roject but I'm back on the NAS.

I've been trying to use the IP address. Here's the setup for the ftp backup.

      Destination Address: 192.168.0.50
      Path: shares/Backups/Private
      Login: username
      Password: pass

I've tried an identical setup with Rsyn and the response is an instant (cannot connect to host) error

The backup is over 100GB, and the ftp just can't handle the whole backup before timing out. I can connect to both the ReadyNASand the StoreX NAS devices using filezilla fine and can SSH into the ReadyNAS and telnet into the StoreX
