Have NETGEAR Ready NAS RM104 for almost 7 yrs. No problems. Just before xmas saw msg disk 2 error. Disy defragmented.
Installed new 3T disk thinking that system would rebuild the dir. But no luck.

Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the ReadyNAS products. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with NAS products and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this router forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:

Please use this link to the main forum product list to review and choose where to make your posts.

- What exactly was the disk error?
- Are you seeing any volume errors?
- Are you able to download the log zip file from the logs page
- Can you clarify what you mean by the "mail server menu"? Are you talking about the email alerts configuration?
Also, what firmware are you running?

Had NETGEAR RM104 server for 7 tears no problem. Just before xmas, I notice msg saying Drive 2 was defragmented.
I took it of line and could not get back.
Replaced drive expecting system would rebuild it, but to no avail.
have about 7T of backed up files.
Any suggestiond appreciated.
I do not have any log files
runing ver 6.10.5
Is it possible to connect the drives to PC and use some kind of software to extract the files?
