Change ReadyNAS duo v2 disk space

Let's clarify this first:  You have the original Duo (not the Duo v2). 

The original Duo

• runs 4.1.x firmware
• says ReadyNAS Duo on the front panel
• often has a RND4000v2 label on the back.

Despite that label on the back, it is the original Duo (called a v1 here).

By contrast, the Duo v2 

• runs 5.3.x firmware
• says ReadyNAS Duo v2 on the back label.

The firmware couldn't be loaded because it was for the wrong platform.

It should have expanded to 2 TB RAID-1, but clearly did not.

I think the best thing is to do a factory default - that will reformat the disks, and it should use the full capacity.  The downside is that you will need to back up the data if you want to keep it, and restore it after the NAS is set up again.

You can do this via the boot menu, but it is a bit simpler to do it from the web ui.  Here's a screenshot of the right page in the web ui (system->update).  It's taken from a Pro-6, but it is in the same on your Duo:
