Did some investigating and even reinstalled the server with DHCP/DNS. Nothing helps. The DNS problem is gone however and all names resolve correctly but I still can't see the shares. I wonder if it was the dhcp service on the nas that somehow started. Didn't start it in the interface though as I can't see any other explanation for the erranous IP/names. Really can't find a solution to this and I will contact the reseller tomorrow for an exchange of the NAS. It just costs too much money trying to figure out what is wrong with it.
Another funny thing is that while it worked allright it didn't show the connected USB disks in shares even though it was told to do that. Perhaps it was when those were connected the problems started. It's a standard 2 HDD USB disk with 2 brand new WD disks. Works just fine on other computers or servers. The nas recognized it fine but never shared them. And then it decided to remove the shares for the folders also for some reason.
