Compression
Hello,
I'm doing some tests with RN104 using firmware version 6.2.2.
I'm not able to make compressed shares work. I create a new share and set the "Compression" checkbox. However, this does not result in any space savings; once I copy 30GB of data to that share, the available space decreases by slightly more than 30GB. The data is verified to be compressible (ZIP gives about 2-to-1 compression ratio on that folder).
Was someone ever successful in enabling compression and actually getting a measurable space savings from it?

- I don't think the added performance of saved space is that big, I believe it still depend on the CPU or RAM of the unit. RN104 doesnt have that much power.
- I don't mind the wait. Current situation is that the "Compression" checkbox on the share has no effect at all. I wonder if someone has ever used compression successfully.
