Dead NAS RN102 after update
Hello! I tried to upgrade my NAS from version 6.1.* (kernel 3.0.93.RN_ARM.1) to the latest version (file ReadyNASOS-6.8.0-arm.img), followed all official instructions and got dead NAS in the end....

I think some necessary code to update to 6.4.0 (or later) wasn't functioning back on that firmware, but really you should have updated to newer firmware than 6.1.x quite a long time ago now.
You could prepare a USB Boot Recovery key and try that. Note not all USB keys are compatible. I would give it plenty of time to run before concluding an attempt has failed.
If it's still not resolved we can make further suggestions.

Thanks for your reply mdgm.
Could you please verify the way of recovery?
I should use files from os6-recovery-tool.zip:\usbrecovery.v2.0.T14.support\arm\
Make a flash with single partition FAT formated with following content:
20.12.2016 23:41 2 733 998 initrd-recovery.gz
28.02.2016 23:40 0 NTGR_USBBOOT_INFO.txt
02.12.2016 01:46 3 159 060 uImage-recovery
Should I aslo append ReadyNASOS-6.8.0-arm.img file into flash?

Well... I thing I managed to do a USB Recovery Key with following files:
3cf4c869ec27b39249cff5c9ab5bbd27 F:\uImage-recovery
5d21b715d3f0a356f576039a4eb09bf6 F:\initrd-recovery.gz
d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e F:\NTGR_USBBOOT_INFO.txt
d9e1ed481c33bb8a0f9605e6fac0c0be F:\ReadyNASOS-6.8.0-arm.imgI hold backup button, powered on the device. Now Power, Backup, and USB stick led are blinking ... 3 hours already.
Is it Ok? should I interrupt this operation? How long it shoud take in normal?
Halp....

So... I switched of the NAS and used another 2Gb USB key made by hands (diskpart.exe+copy of 4 files).
System was restored less than in one minute. Now I have 6.8.0 version on device.
P.S.
Netgear official documentation is so buggy, inaccurate, outdated.... much hate!
I never ever had such problem even with super cheap & noname devices nor brand devices.
Shame on you Netgear!
