Delete Locked Files RND4000-100NAS
I would like to delete a folder that contains over 700 locked files. I have been deleting one at a time by Get Info, unlocking, then trashing which deletes it. Is there a way I can delete the whole folder? The error message reads: The operation can't be completed because you don't have permission to access some of the items." I'm running the ReadyNAS on a iMac OS 10.11.2.
Thanks,
Bruce

If the "folder" is a share, then delete the share from the web UI.
If the folder is in a share, then if you are using "user security mode", then go to the advanced options screen for the share and reset the permissions. The settings below will work:
Click "apply" on the bottom right when done. The "set ownership" box will immediated become unchecked. After a while there should be a pop-up telling you that the operation is complete. Then you should be able to deleted the files.

The folder is not a share. Here what my screen looks like. Thanks, Bruce

Hello brucecowen,
The main folders of the NAS are called shares, those are the ones listed in the share listing of the admin page.
If you are referring to a subfolder ( a folder inside a ReadyNAS share), you should be able to delete the whole folder when you map the share where it is located.
