DLNA Not Working.
I just bought this ReadyNAS NV+ on the weekend, set it up and enable DLNA. I have a Boxee Box and Pioneer Receiver VSX52. Both device are having trouble with DLNA – Slow and timeout browsing.
I configured the NAS and Boxee to use CIFS and everything seems ok.
I don’t have the option to configure the Pioneer VSX52 to do this and I can’t get playlist to work with the pioneer as well.
I have waited so long to get a NAS now I am very disappointed. Can someone please advise?

You're apt to run into the missing files and folders issue as well. Netgear's DLNA implimentation is flakey at best.
FWIW, NFS is faster than CIFS, and if you wind up with mising files and folders consider buying and installing Twonky Server. Cured all my DLNA problems. I wasn't happy about spending the extra $20, but it sure beats holding my breath waiting for an unforthcoming fix or even acknowledment.
Mike - juicemanftaAspirantI updated to the latest DLNA bin last night. Things seems a bit better but the Playlist is still not showing up. Is there any trick to get Playlist working?
Thanks Mike, but are you able to get play list working with this SW? I did have missing folders last night after i did the update the folder list was slowly populating ( i have over 25,000 files not sure how many folders), hopefully this works...
Thanks, - chilemanAspirantHi,
I'm having similar problems with DLNA on my NV+. I've upgraded to the latest firmware 4.0.18 and the latest DLNA module 22.
Directory on the NAS as follows:
<root>media
...........Music
................<genre>
......................<artists> etc
...........Video
.................Film
......................AVI
......................DVD Video <-- full DVD rips
......................Bluray <-- ripped .mkv files
.................TV Comedy
......................Show
...........................Season
................................episode 1
................................episode 2 etc
.................TV Drama
......................Show
...........................Season
................................episode 1
................................episode 2 etc
etc
UPnP is enabled, as is ReadyDLNA
Pretty sure all the file/folder permissions are ok
However when I try and play anything (music, video) through a DLNA client such as my Panasonic bluray player or my Boxee Box, they cannot see any files. Occasionally I will be able see the Film folder, but only a couple of directories (eg AVI, Bluray).
Doing my nut in....
Anyone see anything that I'm missing or doing wrong?
Thanks for any and all help!
G. - juicemanftaAspirantAfter update things are better…Not great but a bit better.
For boxee box, try to add the media in settings, once u do this you should be able to browse ok…
For me boxee box is ok. The pioneer receiver works but sometimes lock-up…not sure if its pioneer or the NAS… - Try these steps:
* disable and re-enable ReadyDLNA
* if it will still not work disable ReadyDLNA, turn off NAS, turn it on, then re-enable it
* if it will still not detect the media files uninstall ReadyDLNA software and re-install it
* make sure that auto media scan is also enabled - chilemanAspirantThanks arjoseph.
Have already tried the first 2 options you provided, but no joy there.
Speaking as a ReadyNAS greenhorn though, how do I go about uninstalling/reinstalling the ReadyDLNA software?
Thanks!
Gareth - Go to installed add-ons, look for ReadyDLNA and click remove button.
