Which disk firmware is on the disks?
There is a known issue with firmware older than CC3D. Disks with CC3C firmware can be upgraded to CC3D firmware, but disks with CC32 firmware cannot.

Here's a link to an old thread where users complained about this issue 4 years ago.
So I would suggest you backup your data and get some new disks for your NAS, perhaps WD RED or SeaGate NAS disks.
