Drive replacement issue in Pro Business

Adding insult to injury, as I was sitting here pondering all this stuff, the NAS suddenly stopped communicating with any useful protocol. I can ping it, but SSH, HTTP/S, AFP and CIFS all are refused. The NAS has vanished. Front panel looks normal, there's traffic on the links, but it cannot be contacted.
