To stream video across a WAN, you need to utilize some sort of compression algorithm. It takes cpu power and a decently fast upstream isp service. Slingbox, as an example, will handle the cpu and compression from your cable box and there's now an android based app for slingplayer- AND, if your cable box/dvr has the ability to play media sitting on your nas, that would be one solution for streaming.
DLNA is great for moving video / streaming video around your LAN, but as stated earlier- not really designed for moving video out through the WAN.
Orb is the next best bet, but sadly Netgear didn't give the Duo nas boxes enough computing power- you really need to go to an Ultra for that.
I've been marginally successful pulling video out to my android phone via AndroFTP, but the speed is really a function of your isp's upload speed. Since ISPs often get judged by download speeds, and the pipe is sort of a zero sum gain (i.e. more down speed / less up speed), they tend to skew the balance to the download speed side. FTP doesn't stream, it is just a fairly bombproof method of transferring files. Once the file gets to your phone- you can watch it!
I'm currently a Duo owner too, and have been considering going to an Ultra- then using my Duo to backup certain shares remotely (as an alternative to some of these expensive backup services).
