Duo V2 ReadyDLNA - New Problem
I've got ReadyDLNA working on my new DUO V2, sort of... I created 4 Music sub-folders and copied over 3,200 files. I able to play these in Windows 7 and my DLNA players ( Samsung BD-C5500 & Xbox 360). I created 3 Videos sub-folders and I'm able to play these files as well.
However, I added a videos sub-folder and 2 more sub-folders and copied video files there. The ReadyNAS shows them in the dashboard, Windows 7 sees them and is able to play them, but the added sub-folder does not show up when using my DLNA players. I restarted the DUO v2 and the problem remains.
Thanks for your help,

- HdtvmanAspirantAn update: I created new sub-folders using dashboard and the copied files to them using Widows 7 Explorer. These files show up and play on my DLNA devices. I'm not sure what the problem is but I know I used W7 Explorer to create the sub-folders that did not show up. I'm not sure what the problem is but I won't be doing that again.
Hdtvman - sphardy1ApprenticeReadyDLNA on the Duo v2 automatically scans your shares for media as file updates are made - there is unfortunately no manual scan option. If for some reason changes are not detected then you end up in the position you are in.
Therefore you have to force an update to happen by either 1) disabling and re-enabling the service on the share (ReadyDLNA will rescan on startup/reconfiguration) or 2) force a file system update by making some form of change to the data such as moving the files, as you did.
I can't say for sure why the auto-update has failed, but I very much doubt the root cause is simply the use of Windows 7 Explorer to create the folders. - HdtvmanAspirantThanks for the info, if this happens again, I will try option 1 instead of what I did. BTW, do you have to restart the system w/o the ReadyDLNA enabled or do you just turn it off and then back on?
- sphardy1ApprenticeJust off then on with the slider - wait a few seconds between each switch to be sure the GUI implements the change
- THANKIAspirantAlthough I dont have a Duo V2 I got the NV+ V2 but I have exactly the same problem......my NAS arrived yesterday with a seperate WD 3TB drive, unfortunatley I have been an idiot and did a copy from my old DUO 2Tb worth of data to the new NAS and just realised that permissions dont stick, Media share is open to 'everyone' but no one has modify permissions and a folder in the file system doesnt inherite rights from the root and remains in read only and to top it off DLNA on the PS3 and TV doesnt correctly show my file system and unlike the old NAS there is no way to re-index your media....
So looks like i'll have to start from scatch but this time test before i copy the whole lot!! :? - tedebusAspirantNext time you can try to access to the NAS through SSH and try to change user permissions using the appropriate shell command.
- sameerabediAspirantRather than start a new thread needlessly, I wanted to ask a similar question.
My Panasonic TV is able to access the ReadyNAS no problems through DLNA, and I can see all the folders. However, when I update the folders, add more video/music files in the same folders it can't see the new files. It only sees the files I first added.
Similarly when I delete the files the folders don't update on the TV - the name remains (obviously can't be accessed).
I've tried re-starting the ReadyNAS drive to no avail. Any other suggestions? I don't know how to disable the service on the TV!
Thanks - siburchyAspirantHi
Have you just installed 5.3.6 of the firmware? If so see this: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=76&t=66499 Might be related.
