EDA500 humming noise + spin down?

Has anyone experienced a humming noise comming out of the EDA500?  It seems to last about 3 seconds, then it stops for 3 seconds, and then starts again.  Sort of like waves at the ocean.  This happens 24/7, even when the attached RN312 unit is in stand-by.  This also leads me to wonder if the eda500 ever goes in standby (spin-down) mode when the main unit (RN312) has spun down.

Thanks

From the symptoms, it sounds like the disks in the EDA are spinning down - but then spinning back up again.

Download the log zip file (from the logs page in the web UI).  Open systemd-journal.log and search for "spin".  Then you can see the spin down/spin up times.

If you have ssh enabled, you can also enter journalctl | grep -i spin on the linux command line.
