EDA500: Please remove the inactive volumes
I have a ReadyNas 316 with an EDA500 connected to it. Everything has been working well. I use only WD Red drives. Today, the EDA500 won't mount. In the admin view it says: Please remove the...

Which firmware are you running?
This problem can happen e.g. if you dislodge the eSATA cable.
Can you send in your logs (see the Sending Logs in my sig)?
No, don't try running a balance.

So I have actually 2 EDA500s. One, /eda2, shows up and is OK. /eda1 is the problem one.

The super frustrating thing is that if I waited 4 months to buy my readynas, I'd have qualified for the lifetime chat support. Really sucks that netgears policy prevents me from getting support simply because of a purchase date issue.

There are support contracts available for purchase. If you login to my.netgear.com and register your product (if you have not already) you will be able to see what's available for purchase.

Yeah, I know that, but that's really all that helpful. I purchased my unit in January 2014.
*Lifetime chat is offered for the products indicated on this table only if they were purchased between June 1, 2014 and May 31, 2016.
I guess I should have known to wait 6 months to get free lifetime support. You would figure that given I've already purchased 2 EDA500 and a couple of ReadyNas, if Netgear couldn't update their policy to make sense, to at least have some help here on the forums. I'm not trying to sound like a jerk, but I've got data that is offline, with a problem that seems to not be unique to me, and I'm just looking for some guidance.
