Error: Cant add inotify watch of "/etc/config/rsyncschedule.conf" error (28)
i have 3 readynas's: pro 6, pro business, and nv+. They mostly work together, two are used for backing up various other systems and nas boxes.
I am trying to back up a (qnap) nas to the readynas pro business, using rsync, but i keep getting an error:
rsync: Cant add inotify watch of "/etc/config/rsyncschedule.conf" error (28): No space left on device (28)
not sure how to fix this. the readynas is the target, so rsync server being used is the one on the readynas. the device has plenty of room on it (4tb at least), unless its a ram issue; pro 6 has 4gb, pro biz has 3gb, and nv+ has 1gb. I also tried this on the other nas's with the same result.
i CAN rsync to it from another readynas, so maybe its a rsync version issue?
any ideas? im using the latest firmware for these units which is 4.1.14 for the nv+ and 4.2.28 for the other two.
thanks,
mark
found what was wrong btw
had to bump up max_user_watches to about 1 million. now everything works fine

Looks like it might be an issue on the QNAP side.

Running the latest QNAP firmware?
- markgcaGuide
that thread is from 2012-2014
many updates since then
but isnt that error referencing the rsync server which is located on the target device, which in this case is the readynas?

If the ReadyNAS is the server then you would see the error message on the QNAP which is running the client. Considering that thread has posts spread over 2012-2014 it would not be at all surprising if the bug in their firmware is still present.
