Replied to your PM, thanks.
In summary, no luck - same Error connecting. Am able to backup from a Windows 7 laptop. Tried with another Mac (but also running Yosemite) and had same Error connecting. Also able to browse the ReadyNAS Duo from my Mac in Frontview Backup (and Finder) but the ReadyNAS Duo v1 refuses to connect to my Mac.
Will try and find a Mac that is running OS X to see if the problem is with Yosemite.

I finally just ended up using FreeFileSync 7.6. It gives a lot more flexibility including Mirrroring, Updating and two-way syncing. Also has real-time syncing.

Hi konnichiwa,
Have you tried using just the folder name as the path (source)? Ensure that you have added your router gateway as one of the DNS in the global settings page. We will also test and investigate this problem that you've encountered. Lastly, are you using this 3rd party backup software in your MAC?
Looking forward to your response.
Kind regards,
BrianL
