failed to install Go progamming language

Using this link to download Go: https://golang.org/doc/install?download=go1.7.4.linux-armv6l.tar.gz after installing like so: wget https://storage.googleapis.com/golang/go1.7.4.linux-armv6l.tar...

I'm going to use a tool which is only available in Go, specifically https://github.com/zenhack/websocket-proxy/blob/master/README.md
This is the first time trying to install Go. I have no clue what to do except try compiling Go from source, but that seems unnecessary.

Hi jaredbidlow,

As I was reading, it might be best if you try the installation guide for a custom location. I think the guide mentioned using GOROOT.

Also, it might be best if you get some instructions from their support.
