Flex-Raid not using Global Spare

I am running two Flex-RAID volumes where in one of them one of drives died. I replaced the dead one with a (used) disk and used the Web UI to destroy the existing data on that disk, formatted it and ...

    No, except for "Cancel" all buttons on the left are disabled.

      I think selecting global spare was a mistake.  But they changed flexraid a few releases ago, and I'm not currently using it.

       

      Was the failed disk also 4 TB?

        I selected Global Spare when nothing happened on its own. The previous drive was 2TB.
