Here are the steps I've taken today. Have not yet resolved the issue though.
1. Downloaded Filezilla Server. Set up a link between the DVR and my Laptop. Set all cameras to trigger an FTP of any vidoes to 192.168.0.3 (Laptop). Set it in motion for an hour and watched the files roll in.... All working well.
2. I have a ReadyNAS Duo V1 with Radiator 4.1.9. I thought that "Share Folder Owner" should not be set to nobody, tried to change it to "FTPuser". Would not work. After reading the Forum, I found that this is an issue and that 4.1.10-T3 would allow me to change this. Downloaded and installed 4.1.10-T3, changed "Share Folder Owner" to FTPuser.
So, I have a User called FTPuser, who belongs to a Group called FTPgroup. Within "Share Listings" I have a Share called "FTPshare". FTP/S Default Access is set to Disabled, Write enabled Host = 192.168.0.254, Write enabled Users FTPuser & Mike Q (that is me), Write enabled Group = FTP Group.
Summary
User = FTPuser
Group = FTPgroup
Share = FTPshare
Share Folder Owner = FTPuser
DVR settings are as follows;
Server URL = 192.168.0.2 (address of NAS)
Port = 21
User = FTPuser
password = *******
The error reported by the DVR is "FTP conn Failed"
The NAS FTP log reported the following
Aug 16 15:25:48 nas-08-FD-4B proftpd[4080] 192.168.0.2 (192.168.0.254[192.168.0.254]): FTP session opened.

I have reviewed the advice given so far by the forum and have tried the following
1. Changed Masquerading to 192.168.0.2, also tried Blank and nas-08-FD-4B. Did not solve problem.
2. Tried a more complete path e.g. 192.168.0.2/FTPshare. Did not solve problem.
3. Tried fttp://192.168.0.2/FTPshare. Did not solve problem.
I have spoken to the manufacturer of the DVR and their advice is that I should not need to carry out steps 2,3 above. Not sure I beleive this, but they say, only put 192.168.0.2 as server URL.
So, not yet fixed. Still hoping for a solution though, keep the ideas coming.
Regarding the /Home/FTP detail in the log. I do not know where "home" has come from, certainly not created by me. Does this offer a clue?
