FTPS access over WAN?

Here is the log fom Filezilla, using explicit FTP over TLS from WAN:
I must have been blind. ftps.conf confirms that apache.pem is the certificate file:
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Response: 220 ProFTPD 1.3.3g Server (NETGEAR ReadyNAS) [10.0.1.160]
Command: AUTH TLS
Response: 234 AUTH TLS successful
Status: Initializing TLS...
Error: GnuTLS error -110: The TLS connection was non-properly terminated.
Error: Could not connect to server
