Genie Apps on new readynas 104 not installing?
Hi, I bought a new Readynas 104 as soon as it became available, and am trying to install apps from the genie marketplace. The service is enabled, and I created an account on the website and logged in...

OK I was able to fix this. It turns out that when you click 'buy' it is far from the one click experience Netgear promises it to be. Where the box opens and says it is installing, what is supposed to happen it it launches the genie apps web site. So where it hangs saying it is installing, it isn't supposed to install anything at all. They could have got around this by just including a 'click here if you are not redirected' link as all its supped to do is launch a browser. poor.
You are then supposed to manually buy the app from the website and select for it to install the apps to your nas device.
The red herring was that the apps for the new range is listed as their own duplicate app entries, right at the last page of the buggy, slow, horribly designed website. So you have to click next page, wait 5 minutes, repeat 5 times to get to the end of the list and find the small selection of apps available. Then you can purchase and install one.
It is also worth noting that there is a lot of apps (as listed in the apps section here http://netgear.com/landing/storage/home.html#4 ) which are simply not available despite it saying so in the marketing for this device. For example: Transmission. Simply not available for the 104. Even if I could get a compatible package from the developer, it seems Netgear have removed the ability to install app packages manually, instead forcing you to buy from their marketplace which is a buggly, slow, horrible purchasing experience.
Netgear really dropped the ball making such a big deal about the apps but putting almost 0 effort into it.
