Getting Error 0x80070027: Disk is full

Hi I just installed my ReadyNAS NV+ V2. I'm trying to copy all my music from my PC to the NAS, but I'm getting the error message 0x80070027 all the time and when I just push try again it continues withou problems. Every time I do something on my PC like starting a new program or a simple command i get this error. I also get it when not doing anything else on my computer, just letting the copyjob run.

Its rather frustrating, I cant sit and babywatch the copy job for like 60Gb of data.
My 2x 2TB disks are newly installed and completely empty, so its not the space. In addition i think the copy process is rather slow, im just getting 9 Mb/sec. So is there a way to improve this in addition to an errorfree copy?

  • Phil - are you running the T19 beta? I've seen a slight improvement in accessing files over the network since updating.
  • Hello there
I am new to the forum and this is my first post ...

I recently purchased a ReadyNas Duo v1 and within minutes was up and running.

I set my files to start copying to the Duo v1 and left the laptop running overnight. By the time I woke up the next morning my entire system was replicated and accessible to all other machines in my Network. I could watch a photo slideshow on my PS3 for example.

To put it mildly I was a very happpy chappy. :)

A few days later I realised that the ReadyNas Duo v2 had been released with USB3 ports, better processor etc ...

I figured as the v1 worked so well and had been so easy to set up that it would be a good idea to get "futureproofed" and so I bought a new v2 and sold the v1. What a mistake that was!

I have now had the v2 for a week and am still struggling to get my data copied over to the v2 ... My laptop has been running non-stop but the transfer of files keeps stopping reporting "Error 0x80070027: The disk is full" which is not true as I have 2 x 2TB WD EARX disks in the Duo (on recommended list) and when I select "Try Again" the file is correctly copied.

I know the v2 can be great (based on my limited exprience using the v1) but this "disk full" issue has me tearing my hair out and on the point of throwing it in the bin (I couldn't conciously sell it to someone else and have them experience the same issues I have).

Please please please can Netgear issue some kind of firmware update to fix the issue, or at least acknowledge that there is a problem!

Signed: A very unhappy chappy :(
  • Hi folks,

I've got a new Duo v2 and have been having the same problem. However, I just registered to share this with you since I may have found an answer:

It seems that an unlikely channel of tech support is @YohDah on twitter. I tweeted him linking this thread and saying that I was having the same problem, and he replied thusly: "Try this add-on: http://www.readynas.com/download/addons/arm/5.3/Toggle_Samba_1.0-arm.bin"

I did so this morning, and so far it seems to have worked. At least, it's been on a transfer job for over two hours now without the "Disk Full" error, which is far longer than it ever managed before. Am hoping it continues...

Tentative Solution: Download that file, install it as an add-on, reboot the device, enjoy.

Try it out! Let us know if it works. At the end of the day I'll post again with an update about whether or not I've stayed error-free.

Note: I can't find any info about what this add-on actually DOES, but it is apparently a toggle of some kind. So, install it once to make the change. If you want to switch back, then install it a second time. Keep track of the number of times you do this, as it doesn't tell you the actual status of whatever it is switching!

    Cheers,

    N

EDIT: I think it works! It's been on a single transfer (my lossless music collection) all day without falling over. FIXED
  • Hello.

I have a Readynas Duo (don't know what version)
and i am experiencing the same problems - Disk is full.
    I am running RAIDiator 4.1.10.

I downloaded the file toggle_samba_1.0-arm.bin, but i get a error while trying to upload the file - Update file is not valid for this architecture.

Where can i find the right add-on ?

You have a Duo V1. I don't believe the add-on is available for the v1.

Maybe submit an on-line support request.
  • The biggest issue with ext and windows and disk full. Is if you have alot of little files sometimes the inodes get used up. If you provide the logs, I can look into that for you.
