Have RN516 in X-RAID2 RAID6 config, considering upgrading chassis to 626X
I should backup my data (obviously), what other concerns are there besides making sure the firmware matches? Currently on 6.6.1, with six drives.

You would:
- Verify the firmware update was successful (i.e. system comes up fine on 6.6.1 after the reboot required by the firmware update process)
- Power down both systems
- Remove the scratch disk from the RN626X that was used to update the firmware to 6.6.1 on it.
- Move the disks across (you should keep the disk order the same).

That's what I would expect from past experience considering the processor and architecture would be similar.
Thanks, will update, possibly soon.

So, it didn't work.
Not only didn't it work, the RN626X marked my volume as UNAVAILABLE.
HAD an open support case with L3, just closed deliberately or otherwise. They have made a half-hearted attempt to play around with it, but now the RN516 is inaccessible via remote mount or via the admin page.
The last tech I spoke to implied the RN626X is incompatible with drives built on the RN516!HAVE a complaint case open against L3 Customer Support for lack of support.
NOW in desperation I a reaching out to you people...
What should I do!?

It should normally work, but it is prudent where possible to backup your data first.
I can see your current case has been escalated to L3.
