How to point a subdomain to an app?
Hi!
I'm running OS 6.5 on my ReadyNAS and i'm trying to setup my own personal cloud. I installed Owncloud for this. Currently i can access my Owncloud with https://myipaddress/owncloud
I have my own domain name hosted on Godaddy and created an A record for a subdomain(cloud.mydomain.com) to point to my IP address. So now i can access Owncloud on cloud.mydomain.com/owncloud
Is it possible to somehow remove the /owncloud part from the url?
Thanks
Btw, an outdated Owncloud is downloaded using the apps menu in the admin page, but you can install the latest version(9.0.2) easily. First, install the outdated Owncloud in the Apps menu. Once its installed, do not start it just yet. Download the latest Owncloud Server version from https://owncloud.org/install/ and copy/replace the files in the apps/owncloud/web directory on your ReadyNAS. After that, you can launch the app and it should install the latest version:)

While it is possible to have a subdomain point to any web enabled application hosted on the ReadyNAS, there's one catch: The config of the Apache web server on the ReadyNAS isn't exactly made with hosting sub domains in mind. And since the config is rewritten on every restart of the Apache web server it's not really easy to come up with a solution that would stick and survive for example reboots or firmware upgrades.
