How to remove disk from Raid ?

Hi,

I have ReadyNAS Duo with latest firmware. It has two disks inside, running in the Raid-X mode. One disk is a Seagate of 750 GB and the other one is WD of 1 TB. That means that the available disk space is about 700 GB.

I have at the moment used about 85% of a disk space. I would like to increase that space. The simplest way (at least that is what I believe) is to remove the smaller disk from Raid-X and to continue using NAS without Raid with only one disk, which should get then its full space capability of 1 TB. The question is: how to do that ?

I tried simply to remove smaller disk but Duo is still in Raid mode and reports that one disk is dead.

I will appreciate any hint ...
