Then the next step is to create plex libraries that include the folders that hold the media.

you could also try just using the readydlna service built in to the system.
You would need to go to your media share(s) and enable dlna service on them.

Can you tell us a bit more about the network? Manufacturer/model of equipment on the network path from the router to the TV.
Also, is the TV is using ethernet? Or WiFi?

Dear Stephen,
Thank you for your reply.
i have my Router connected to my gigabit switch port. my Gigabit switch port connected to the gigabit port of my readynas. The switch connected to my Ubiquiti AP. And finally my LG TV connected to my AP.

Thx, that is helpful.
The first thing to check is the wifi link. Is it practical to run an ethernet cable to the TV for testing?
Also, if you have a PC connected with ethernet, you can test streaming and overall throughput from the PC.
For instance, run plex in the PC's web browser, and stream to the browser. Test general throughput on a Windows PC with NAStester (http://www.808.dk/?code-csharp-nas-performance)

Dear Stephen,
yes, i did tried to stream with the plex server on my browser from my PC with ethernet cable directly connected to my Gigabit switch port.
the throughput is the same. it buffers a lot of time.
or could it be that i have to run the plex server on windows server operating system. for instance Microsoft WS 2016 edition?
what is the proberbility of the streaming speed?
Thanks.

What are you trying to stream? 4K, 1080p, ???
Buffering has basically three causes
- network congestion
- client can't keep up
- server can't keep up
Taking them in order-
Network congestion is usually the problem on wifi, it is much less likely on gigabit ethernet.
The client can be a problem if it is an older PC - especially if the content is 4K (and even sometimes 1080p).
Plex supports real-time transcoding - if that is enabled, then it is possible that the server isn't keeping up. Try going to the Plex settings page, and choose Web. Player should be on the bottom right - choose that. Make sure Local Quality is set to Original, and that Direct Stream is checked. It's ok to check Direct Play also. With those settings it is very unlikely that that server is the bottleneck.
