Infrant ReadyNas + to Netgear ReadyNas + can I swap disks?
I am unsure of the model number. It says Infarant on my manual and it is a ReadyNas NV+ with 4 bays that I filled with disks. I have a Netgear ReadyNas NV+ which is running the same firmware. I...

It did not work. The NAS would not boot. If I buy a new NAS, does Netgear still help migrate over my data?

Yes, but they will charge the data recovery rate. https://kb.netgear.com/29876/ReadyNAS-Migrating-disks-from-RAIDiator-4-1-or-RAIDiator-5-3-to-ReadyNAS-OS-6

I read the link thank you. But if I cannot read my disks now because the Nas will not boot, what chance will I have reading them this way? I do have an entire NAS to move the data too, but how do you get the data from the disks? do you use the new NAS to read them?

Netgear can temporarily mount them on an OS-6 NAS, as pointed out in the article. Then you'd need to copy the data to other storage.
If the array is healthy, it is possible to mount it in an x86 linux PC - you do need to connect the disks either with SATA or USB dock. Note most PCs can be booted up on linux. Let us know if you are interested in trying that.

I have an external hard drive shell which I can use to connect to each 720 G drive, but I worry the Linux part is beyond my skills. I do have a spare laptop I can use for the Linux. Does that become the new operating system or is it a ghost drive type thing? I do have a blank 720 drive which I had as a spare if a drive failed. Obviously there is no guarantee that I can even read them with a new ReadyNas, but on the other hand, I do need a replacement unit. It is just a few things that missed my last back up. If I got a new ReadyNas would my 720 G drives work or are they too small? They are over 10 years old. I guess I would need new drives.
If I try the the Linux option, should I just search the forum here for those instructions?
