Infrant X6 bootloader failure
Hello. I have an original Infrant X6 (purchased from Infrant) that was running 4.1.8 just fine. I replaced it with an NV+ and attempted to reset the old X6 back to factory defaults through the web GUI and it failed - the blue light was on but the NAS was unresponsive to any request from RAIDar for hours. I reset the NAS's power and when it came up it registered the error, "Boot loader fails to locate valid RAIDiator image". I pulled the flash and performed a rewrite of the 4.1.8 image and now the error comes up "RAIDiator image does not match NAS platform, contact tech support to convert OEM NAS to ReadyNAS". Is there a different OS image that I need to download given that my X6 is the original Infrant model?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Best regards,
Ryan

- imzeek2u1AspirantThanks. Tried restarting a few times and I still can't access the web interface. I'm now trying another factory reset to see if that helps. There's nothing I need on the NAS - the data's already been migrated to a newer NV+. If this doesn't work, I may have to revert back to the old 2.0 firmware again and start over, I guess. Let me know if you have any other suggestions. Thanks again.
- imzeek2u1AspirantI'm also getting an error that the "add-on is not supported on this NAS" when I apply the Vendor ID patch.

Do you have at least 256MB RAM in this NAS? - imzeek2u1AspirantNo, unfortunately the factory reset didn't solve the issue with no access to the web admin in 4.1.8. The X6 has 256MBs of RAM. I ended up stepping back down to RAIDiator-2.00c1-p5 which at least gave me back access to the web admin. I suspect that the error I'm getting about my system not supporting the Vendor ID patch might be related to what's causing 4.1.8 to install but not be accessible via the web admin. Is there more than 1 version of the Vendor ID patch? (ie. one specifically for older 2.x firmware). This is all very odd, because I was running 4.1.8 before on the X6 and only got into this dilemma when I tried to perform a factory reset which failed. I'm simply looking to prepare the X6 for resale on eBay.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredIs there an option to download all logs under Status > Logs on that firmware? If so, download the logs and take a look at boot_info.log. What vendor is shown there?
