Invalid Checksum Errors
Hey Everyone,
I have just received my second ReadyNAS NV+ and want to enable root so I can tweak a few settings. So, I installed my drives and 1GB of Corsair memory and booted up. I proceeded to download Enable Root SSH (from http://www.readynas.com/?cat=36) and attempted to install the addon. The first screen (after uploading the .bin) worked fine and said the package was valid, however after proceeding I get a popup saying:
"Invalid checksum detected in the update file. Update aborted"
I've been searching and trying ideas for the last day and a half and am getting a bit frustrated now. So far I've tried the following:
- Basic Reboot
- Reboot with Volume Scan
- Reboot with Check and fix quotas
- Factory Reset (with only 1 drive in)
- Attempted update with multiple browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome on both Windows 7 64b and Windows XP Machines)
And I have been unable to get it to install.
So - I just tried installing the same .bin on my other unit and it was unsucessful as well - however in the past I was able to install packages on that one just fine. I wonder - could this be a router issue? That is the only thing that is different about my network at this point that I can think of.
Any ideas/help would be great.
Luke

- labrat11AspirantOn the ReadyNAS Duo I was trying to enable ssh with the ssh x86 version. Turns out that it is Sparc based. The Sparc version worked fine (my firmware is 4.1.7).
