I know there hasn't been much discussion lately on this but I stumbled upon this thread after talking to Apple tech support about my iPhoto woes on my ReadyNAS Duo. The thing is, iPhoto does open and work with my 60 gig library totaling over 18000 photos (and a few videos here and there)... It starts up just fine, but the problem is that the thumbnails don't all load, so many of my albums when I open them up do not have any thumb nails. Also, occasionally I'll get a beach ball and it will freeze up, but then other times it seems to perform just fine.
Anyway, Apple told me it is not supported on any sort of network drive, so I've been trying to get it back to a local system or an external drive. Unfortunately, I'm having a difficult time getting it copied back to my system. Every time I go to copy the folder, it says "preparing to copy" and it just sits there for hours on end.... Does any one know how I can get it back to my system from the ReadyNAS? It's connected via gigabit ethernet, so speed shouldn't be a problem...
