iPhoto '11 TROUBLE
My problems started when I launched iPhoto '11 for the first time. I received the warning
"The library could not be opened because the file system of the library's volume is unsupported."
I had been using CIFS with no problem for iPhoto '09.
I turned on AFP and disabled CIFS to see if this protocol would be better for iPhoto '11. That is when the share that housed my iPhoto Library stopped working.
I now get the warning
"The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “iPhotos-NAS” can’t be found."
I have tried turning off AFP and turning back on CIFS. I have also restarted the ReadyNas Duo several times.
I am scared that my photos will be lost or corrupted. Please help if you can.
thank you

- anurickAspirantI tried the cp -R approach, and got zero status (cp isn't very helpful in this regard when copying 100+ GB of data). Then it crapped out hours later with an error message about permissions.
It's 2011. The fact that we've got to resort to cp to do something basic shows exactly how bad the software is. - FuriousDAspirantSlightly off piste but i did not want to start another thread for one question.
I like others on this thread have a substantial iPhoto lib on my Ultra 2, about 11,000 photos. Not the fastest but not to bothered on that.
Should i have formatted the NAS in anyway or will everything be ok. I am in early days with the NAS so at the moment the photos are still on my iMac but the idea was to free up space on the iMac by housing all my photo and itunes on the NAS. Currently reading the lib by AFP very successfully.
I did try iScsi but it was no faster and was more of a pita to get the library up.
THanks
D
Sorry using iPhoto 08.
