JBOD vs regular HDD vs RAID
i'm curious as the reliability of the JBOD setup compared to just having a HDD in my regular computer. is it the same chances of a disk failing or being rendered FUBAR? i only ask as when using RA...
The disk is formatted differently, but the odds of a JBOD disk failing should be similar to a failing HDD in a PC. XRAID-2 is more reliable, but even with RAID you need a backup.
